Aim

The hot isostatic pressing method (HIP) is a manufacturing and heat treatment method where the temperature is applied simultaneously with high pressure to improve material properties or to produce net parts from powder metallurgy. The pressure is generally applied by argon or similar noble gases, while the temperature is provided by heating elements such as graphite. The aim is to produce low-porosity, high-density materials.
